I'm at the point where I feel like I'm playing catch up...on everything. Life moves SO fast sometimes and it's quite a ride if you're not holding on. I told Ryan (when he asked for a puppy and I said Hell no not right now) that I feel like I'm juggling life and I'm not dropping the pins but I keep hitting myself in the face with them before I catch them...
Baby Mason is doing fine; he hasn't told me otherwise so we'll go with the whole "no news is good news" thing. He's even being a bit nicer to mommy...I only get sick every OTHER day anymore which is nice. I can tell he's growing because I'm expanding, rather quickly these days. Much faster than the first bit of this pregnancy. I've started gaining weight instead of losing it and the waistband is getting tighter and tighter. We're just over 19 weeks along now so he should be about the size of a cantelope...and more proportionate, as in his legs and arms match his body size and his head isn't a giant globe on top of a tiny baby anymore...he's starting to fit better in his own skin.
We went to Utah last weekend to see Ryan's grandma Sara (and so I could meet her!) and stayed with her for the weekend. We got to spend a lot of time with Ryan's brother Tyler and his also pregnant wife Mary. Mary and I had a great time at the Carters outlet and Ikea and found the big comfy camo chairs to hold down while the guys explored Cabella's and Scheels. It was a great weekend. We played dominos with Grandma and even spoiled our little Mason. I know I'll have to wash it all again but when Ryan suprised me by putting the crib together while I was at work I figured why not "decorate" it? We got his bedding at Ikea last weekend so I washed it all and put his crib set on. It's just too cute.
This little book started the hedgehog craze. We bought it Saturday with the little hedgehog doll to go with and fell so in love with it we went back for the matching bedding Sunday. :)
All in all, life is good. I take a lot of naps with my kittens (when I can...work tends to get in the way!!). I have been walking with mom after work this week and it's been really fun. We get in a little over a mile and my body appreciates it. I can tell because my hips tell me all day the next day just how much they enjoyed it. ;)
(I think she's using me for my weekend nap schedule)
Ryan comes and goes like usual, since he works outside of Winnemucca. He's home for four or five days at a time and gone for the same. He's been getting some practice in the Daddy department since his best friends just had their first a couple months ago. It was pretty fun for Chelsea (the mom) and I to watch Zach (the daddy) and Ryan figure out the bouncer instructions...eventually they got it figured out and sweet baby Brooke loved it. Saved by the bounce. :)
We go back to the doctor on April 4th and will be just over 21 weeks....over half way!!! Hoping to hear the little guy's heartbeat at this appointment. We haven't heard it yet. I know, you'll say thats crazy. BUT we have had an ultrasound each appointment and I guess they've had the sound turned down or something. I always get so ga-ga over seeing him that I forget to ask them to pump up the volume. I have every intention of asking next time. :) Ryan and I were also thinking about getting something so we can hear it at home too. Like Katie told me, pregnancy is a billion dollar industry. There's tons of stuff out there that you really don't need. Belly buds, for example...I'd like to think that laying my ipod on my baby bump and playing him his baby einstein music works just as good as the $75 sticky ear bud type things you can get to attach to your bump. And even if it doesn't, I like listening to it too. :) No harm, no foul.

I didn't know you had another blog...
ReplyDeletecute bedding! i'm glad you are walking. Take care of you and the lil peanut
If Ryan got a puppy would he take it back and forth with him? On our ultrasound machines they have to select the fluttering heart and zero in on it to hear it. They've only done that once though, because they always use the doppler. The "Mozart Effect" is a perfect example of that billion dollar industry. Like many, I'm a skeptic. There isn't any solid research to prove that it helps your baby, but you could also say that there isn't any that says that it harms it either. Do what makes you happy. Glad you're not so sick anymore.
