Movin' on up!

With baby on the way we've been thinking a lot about our living space.  We were pretty sure we could fit him/her in there but it would be super uncomfortable and stressful.  As life tends to work out we were lucky enough to have an opportunity dropped in our lap that will add space to our world. 

 

We are moving in 2 weeks into a 2 bedroom 2 bath singlewide trailer.  It's a 2012 so everything is new and we'll be gaining about 300 sq ft of space.  The yard is smaller and the commute to work for me will be a whopping 7 or so minutes instead of the 3 minute walk I have now but baby will have his/her own room and we'll have room for things we've been missing, like a full size couch, dining room table and king size bed!  Lots to do in the  next two weeks and finding the energy to get it going has been tough but we can do it.  Anyone who's local and wants to help, we'll take all the help we can get. :)

Oh baby

Pregnancy is a beautiful miracle.  It's amazing to think that I have a person growing inside me.  It's amazing to think that we all came from inside of our mothers and grew to be who and what we are now.  It's amazing.  Wonderful. 

With that said, it's not all roses and rainbows.  It's amazing how one persons pregnancy can be sooooo different from anothers.  I  know countless women who are just sick as can be for their whole pregnancy and even more who had the blissful pregnancy and we will from now on refer to as the "Pregnancy Unicorns."  These are the beautiful, lucky women who don't experience the gut-wrenching morning sickness, back breaking hip spasms and utter exaustion that so many of us suffer through in order to grow our beautiful miracles.  Everyone knows (and is jealous of) one.  My little sister....a pregnancy unicorn.

Overall my little peanut hasn't been too mean to me.  Compared to some friends I have that are sick constantly my pregnancy has been a peach.  Compared to my sisters blissful experience my pregnancy has been a bear. :)  Everyone's different.

Our little miracle is 13 1/2 weeks big now, about the size of a peach and growing like crazy.  He/She has developed all their organs by now and they are starting to work on their own.  Fingerprints have formed, hair has started to grow and he/she can make sucking movements and bend his/her arms and legs.  He/She might just be sucking their thumb in there as I type.  It's so crazy to think of what's next. 

When Ryan and I were in Reno for our wedding (see previous post) we decided to take some "family time" and went to Babies R Us.  We did our registry and OMG that was so much fun.  I'm not sure which one of us had more fun with that crazy little registry gun they gave us but we were pretty worn out and hungry by the time we were done.  We don't know what sex baby is yet so we planned for both.  We figure when we find out we'll log onto the registry and thin it down to just that sex.  I say we're growing a girl; Ryan's positive there's a boy in there.  In another month or so we'll know who's right!

Here's baby as of Wednesday the 6th of Feb. :)  All is well. Ultrasound showed one baby and baby was wiggling all over. :) Seems healthy as a horse. Doc said all my ailments are typical side effects and gave me a sheet with a list of side affects and the recommended treatments of them. Turns out I can take unisom to help me sleep. Cross your fingers that it works. :)  Sleep would be great!

Next appointment and ultrasound is on March 6th with Doctor Winch and we'll be 16 weeks at that point, which is the earliest you can tell sex. Not counting on it but wouldn't it be cool to find out?!

This ultrasound isn't a very good picture because baby is still only the size of a peach and wouldn't hold still long enough. We were able to see arms and legs and little bones but couldn't catch them on the photos. :)

Decided this morning, when perusing my cousins blogs, that I hadn't updated in a while.  Here's where we're at!

On January 19th we got hitched in Reno at the Arch of Reno Chapel.  It was great and would have only been better had more family been able to come.  We made a kind of spur of the moment decision to do this so unfortunately that didn't leave family and friends much time to make the trip.  But we were both off that weekend and that is rare so we took advantage of it.

My Aunt Vicki and Uncle Gene who live in Dayton were able to come and Uncle Gene did me the favor of walking me down the aisle.  It's a good thing too...bad shoe choice and I'm not sure I'd have made it without him. ;)

Our sisters in law met us at the house when we got home from our whirlwind weekend with this beautiful cake they'd made us.

So, now we're married.  Life hasn't changed much, other than the arm cramps I get from filling out all the name change paperwork. ;)  But, do you know how cool it is to go from Primeaux which you have to spell out phonetically for anyone (P as in paul, r, i, m as in mary, e a u x as in x-ray) to Scott?!  I still love most of my Primeaux's with all my heart but I have to say it's a hoot to just write "Kim Scott" now. :)

Whoopsie....and wow.

So, for those of you not on facebook we have some news....Let me put it in the simplest of terms:

  


Suffice it to say we're a bit surprised and a whole lot excited.  As of today we're 9 weeks and 3 days along and as of this moment I feel great.  That changes...sometimes by the minute or hour...but for now I'm good.
I know what you're thinking..."Now what?"  Well, I don't know yet.  Pretty sure you can get your white out working on that Save the Date you received since baby is due August 13th. :)  We'll let you know what happens. 
For now, we celebrate...I eat when I can, sleep when I can and try to keep the mood swings to a minimum.  What you can do...pray for Ryan's sanity...he's going to need it!

Roll with it!!

Planning a wedding... its an interesting monster.  Some days its so stressful and makes me crazy.  Some days I feel like we might just pull it off AND keep our sanity!

We are waiting on word back from the Basque House so we can pay our deposit and lock in our location.  We got the name of an officient to check into from some friends.  He is a pastor and requires 2 months of pre-marriage counseling which I think is a good thing.  I have been talking to a local baker about doing cupcakes instead of cake...its around the same price and so much easier to serve.  Plus I LOVE CUPCAKES!!!

All in all things are lining up pretty well and as much as it makes me nervous and wonder what will go wrong I'm going to just roll with it.  Its all good.

The planning has begun...where's my wine?!

The cake...who's going to do the cake!  Caterers?!  Photographers charge HOW MUCH?!  We don't go to church so who's going to marry us????  We should set a budget...don't forget anything on it!  Dress shopping in Elko...right...time to go to Boise...first to find the time!  What are the guys going to wear???  DJ or iPod...that's the question!  Frosting?  What are our colors?  Table linens....are there enough tables???  GUEST LIST!  

That's it!  Where's my wine?!  Or chocolate...NO!  Wedding diet!!!  Crap.

One of the things I love about us is our ability to just laugh.  It's refreshing and comforting and ridiculous all at the same time and it's about the best thing since sliced bread. :)  This life we're starting...it's gonna be a HOOT!
